PICASSAU is an acronym for Painting Implementation Crafting Artwork of Subjects Selected at Auburn University. We envisioned, designed, and built PICASSAU for our senior design project for Electrical Engineering at Auburn University, under the advisement of Dr. Thaddeus Roppel.
Ben Straub--Team leader
Ben is a senior at Auburn University graduating December 2013 with a double major in Electrical Engineering and Wireless Hardware Engineering and a minor in Business. After graduation, he plans to pursue a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering. Being the team leader, he has a hand in all aspects of PICASSAU. His academic interests are in embedded systems and controls. In his spare time, he likes to work on electronics projects, play piano, and spend time with his soon-to-be-wife and fellow team member, Kayla Frost.
David toledo
David is a senior at Auburn University graduating December 2013 with a degree in Electrical Engineering.He plans to get a job in the field with hopes to finally have a weekend off. In his free time he enjoys sleeping, eating, and playing video games.
Drew kerr
Drew is a senior at Auburn University graduating December 2013 with a degree in Electrical Engineering and a minor in Spanish. After graduation, he plans to work in industry for a few years before heading back to graduate school for either an MBA or Masters. In his free time, Drew enjoys playing tennis, golf, and racing in triathlons.
Kayla frost
Kayla is a senior at Auburn University graduating December 2013 with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and a minor in Business-Engineering-Technology. After graduation, she plans to pursue a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering. Her main focus for PICASSAU is software development and image processing. In her free time she enjoys playing golf, tennis, and the piano.
peter gartland
Peter is also a senior at Auburn University majoring in Electrical Engineering. He will graduate in December 2013 and plans to attend graduate school for a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering. His focus on PICASSAU has been on building the structure and mounting the electrical components. In his spare time, Peter conquers Europe, plays piano, listens to jazz, and takes care of his dog Perrin... well he doesn't really take care of Perrin, because Perrin's in Birmingham, but he would really like to be there with him.
